Thoughtbox is a successor to Waldzell AI's Clear Thought that provides structured step-by-step reasoning capabilities through a clear_thought tool, enabling AI assistants to break down complex problems into manageable thoughts with support for revision, branching, and dynamic adjustment of reasoning paths. Built by glassBead at Kastalien Research with TypeScript and featuring both STDIO and HTTP transports via Smithery deployment, it supports multiple thinking approaches including forward thinking for exploration, backward thinking for goal-driven planning, and mixed/branched thinking for complex multi-faceted problems. The implementation includes a comprehensive notebook system for literate programming with JavaScript/TypeScript execution, making it useful for detailed analysis, planning and design workflows, problem-solving that requires course correction, and situations where maintaining context across multiple reasoning steps is critical.
