Scapes implements a meta-server routing layer that distributes queries and knowledge across multiple child MCP servers based on semantic similarity. Each child server maintains its own knowledge graph with embeddings, and the meta-server computes a softmax distribution over all servers to enable soft routing with temperature-controlled spread. This architecture mirrors how cortical maps in neuroscience represent concepts with graded boundaries rather than hard partitions. The system supports both fan-out search across domains and distributed writes to multiple servers based on relevance weights.
