OpenBB Widgets

An MCP server built by DidierRLopes that provides comprehensive access to OpenBB's widget development documentation and includes essential boilerplate code for building OpenBB Workspace widgets. The server exposes over 30 documentation tools covering widget types (Plotly charts, AgGrid tables, HTML, markdown), parameter configurations (dropdowns, date pickers, boolean toggles), widget settings (grid sizing, error handling, refresh intervals), and JSON specifications for apps and agents. It features a specialized tool that provides the foundational FastAPI setup with CORS configuration, widget registration decorators, and the required widgets.json endpoint structure, along with a working Monte Carlo stock simulation widget example that demonstrates proper integration patterns. The implementation is containerized and deployable, making it useful for developers building financial dashboards, creating custom OpenBB integrations, and learning widget development patterns through comprehensive documentation access and ready-to-use code templates.
