NVD (National Vulnerability Database)

The MCP-NVD server provides AI assistants with direct access to the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) for retrieving CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) information. Built with Python 3.12 and the MCP framework, it exposes a tool for fetching detailed vulnerability data including descriptions, severity ratings, publication dates, and references by CVE ID. The implementation includes rate limit handling, language-specific description retrieval, and comprehensive error recovery. Security analysts, developers, and IT professionals can use this server to quickly access up-to-date vulnerability information through natural language interactions with AI assistants, without needing to manually search the NVD database.
