Malaysia Government Data (data.gov.my)

This MCP server provides AI assistants with access to Malaysia's official government data through the data.gov.my API and GitHub-hosted metadata repository. Developed by Manfye Goh using TypeScript and the Model Context Protocol SDK, it offers four core tools: listing available data catalogue IDs, fetching detailed metadata for specific datasets, retrieving actual data from the API with configurable limits, and searching catalogues by keyword across titles and descriptions. The implementation combines direct API calls to data.gov.my for live data with GitHub API integration to access catalogue metadata from the datagovmy-meta repository, enabling AI assistants to discover, explore, and analyze Malaysian government datasets including population statistics, economic indicators, and public service data without manual navigation of government data portals.
