Excel Search

An MCP server for searching and reading Excel files from local directories, built by the Excel Search MCP Team using FastMCP, pandas, and openpyxl. The implementation provides three core tools: list_excel_files for discovering Excel files (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb) with metadata collection, read_excel_data for converting Excel worksheets to JSON format with configurable row limits, and search_in_excel for finding specific text within Excel files with case-sensitive options. Features comprehensive security controls including work directory restrictions, file size limits, and path traversal prevention, along with configurable settings for recursive search, maximum files per search, and supported file formats, making it useful for data analysis workflows, Excel file management, and AI-assisted spreadsheet processing tasks.
