Clippy (macOS Clipboard)

Smart clipboard tool for macOS that provides AI assistants with intelligent file and text copying capabilities through an MCP server interface. Built by Neil Berkman in Go, the implementation combines clipboard operations with recent file discovery, offering tools for copying text or files to clipboard, pasting clipboard content to directories, and listing recently downloaded files from Downloads/Desktop/Documents folders. The server uses hybrid detection (UTI → MIME → mimetype fallback) to intelligently handle different file types, automatically determining whether to copy file content as text or as file references, and includes smart unarchiving detection for downloaded archives. Designed for AI workflows where assistants need to draft content and place it directly in the user's clipboard for pasting into any macOS application, or quickly access and manipulate recently downloaded files without manual file system navigation.
