This implementation enables full local control of Brave browser through MCP using a sophisticated three-layer architecture. The stack consists of a Brave-compatible MV3 extension that handles browser APIs and DOM interaction, a localhost daemon that manages pairing and request routing, and an MCP server that exposes 48 typed tools to Claude. Capabilities include tab and window management, DOM querying and interaction, navigation with wait conditions, screenshot and PDF capture, console log access, network interception and mocking, file uploads, and page-level emulation controls. The design prioritizes local-first security with explicit authentication, typed contracts, and user-visible browser state.
